We’re honoured to announce that Young David has won the South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Animation at this year’s ceremony in Johannesburg.

The series, which serves as a prequel to our feature film David, was recognized for its storytelling, character design, and the quality of its animation — all produced right here in Cape Town.

“This award belongs to the incredible team at Sunrise,” said director James Sobey. “Their dedication to craft and story is what made this series special.”

Young David is currently streaming on the Minno app and Angel Studios.
